about

After a year, this album still sits well with me honestly. Despite my music taste evolving hugely, this album still sounds good to me and sort of brings me back to a fun time in my life. Sure, some of the recording was stressful af, but ya know that's what it's like making a record. We spent a long time getting everything together, and the recording of all these tracks was spread throughout about two or three months. We were mostly just being lazy, since we threw together the cover literally last minute because we needed one. It was just a spontaneous idea that came together shockingly well if I do say so myself, since we had/have practically no artistic prowess in that category. I don't know if I speak for all of us when I say that, but it's true. Sadly, we only played these songs once for out school and we only played one or two (I can't quite remember). We did play them by ourselves in my basement a few times with no audience, but I guess that shows how much we liked playing. Unfortunately, we dissolved almost right after this album was completed though. Chad wanted to continue in this proggy direction whilst I was getting into punk and noisier stuff. Plus, Tyrone moved away and we haven't heard from him since. I was sad at first, but we both sort of knew it was coming to an end. We had some songs recorded though, which I will release real soon for free. All in all, Blue Mist was a very fun time in my life and this album is definitely one that I'm proud of. The lack of vocals still irritates me a bit though, since our approach to lyrics made it really fucking hard to get anything done. Me and Chad don't talk much anymore, but I've told him a few times that I want to record/release his stuff through here. My project will also be done through here, and maybe some other bands(?). Only time will tell, but at the end of the day this will be a fond memory of mine, and this bandcamp will be the place where I publish things.

about

Blue Mist Bands Biddeford, Maine

"If we are unable to unify the past, present, and future of the sentence, then we are similarly unable to unify the past, present, and future of our own biographical experience of life. By molding the past into visual mirages or stereotypes, we effectively abolish any practical sense of the future and of the collective project, thereby leaving the thinking of future change to sheer cataclysm." ... more
